I’m Sorry

I’m sorry I used your toothbrush,

really I truly am.

I don’t know what came over me,

please don’t tell me Mam!

I really wasn’t thinking straight,

it was merely my mistake,

I saw it sat upon the sink,

it was the obvious choice to take.

A spur of the moment action,

to right some rancid breath,

a brush, a swill, to clear the air,

to prevent halitosis death.

I thought I was doing the right thing,

just to help out, you see?

To make his teeth go pearly white,

with breath all minty and clean.

I know it was quite wrong of me,

and it really wasn’t right,

but now at least the doggies teeth,

are clean and really white!

Do You Ever Wonder?

Do you ever wonder,

every time you read,

if this is about you and,

the way you have behaved?

Can you twist the words around,

to fit your circumstance?

Does your heart still skip a beat,

as the butterflies start to dance?

Does it not occur to you,

to stop and take a look,

if I’ve named and shamed you,

and put you in my book?

Should you stop to think a while,

and maybe even ponder,

if my words refer to you,

do you ever wonder?

You made the same mistake as her;

the truth is staring you in the face,

screaming so loud, you cannot see,

that you walk to the same dark place.

You’ve ventured down this path before

too far, turn back, embrace the pain

shame and defeat, walk hand in hand.

Is it too late to start all over again,

and to make the same mistake as her?

This place doesn’t feel deserving,

whilst people’s tempers turning,

all this is occurring,

while the streets are burning.

Turn around, cry for help,

when all you see is yourself,

all of this is occurring,

while the streets are burning.

This place you may fear,

is the place that is right here,

all of this occurring,

while the streets are burning.

Try to put out the fire,

Is this really your desire?

Are you really deserving,

while the streets are burning?

Sunrise 2

When the day is over,

the work has all been done,

the twilight is upon us,

moon outstrips setting sun.

I take my rest with comfort,

to reflect on days well spent,

pay homage, offer gratitude,

lessons learned in the event.

With stillness and with clarity,

with wisdom and with heart,

I think of all my good friends,

who show me where to start.

The lessons, I have newly learned

from them, they show the way,

inspiring birth of sunrise

springs forth valiant new day.

Oh tortuous night

how thou hast

defeated me.

Whilst Angels sleep

against a weeping moon

the painful pull

of sleeps flirtations.

Does thou bring soon

comfort and release

from dark hells hounds

with murderous intent.

Oh tortuous night

now thou hast

defeated me.

A View of Earth from Saturn

Sapphire seas,

tourmaline trees,

the sun shining sweetest nectar.

I soar in the skies,

whilst skimming the seas,

protected by Isis and Hector.

The stars line the way,

whilst the trees bow to me,

and the gulls cry out jubilations!

Old Father Time and Mother Earth smiles,

as the world spins in sweet salvation.

Eight Lilies

Eight Lilies of remembrance,

stand to mark the way.

Eight lilies, one for each of you,

respect and honour the day;

to show that I still think of you,

though that day is done,

each lily marks a bygone past,

from a lifetime that is gone.

I smell their sweet thick lily scent,

It makes me think of you;

with fondest memories in my heart,

and tears that are now few.

No longer living in my world,

It is as though you’re dead.

The lilies are memorial,

to words still left unsaid.

The steps to take, preferably with joy

2. Answer these 10 questions, below, for fun if you want to.
3. Nominate 10 to 12 blogs you enjoy. Or you pick the number.

5. Pay the love back with gratitude and a link to the blogger(s) who nominated you.

The Nominees . I encourage you to visit and discover on your own how they deserve The Sunshine Award because they all positively and creatively inspire. Also some (or all) of these writers may choose to not participate in this award process but I still want this chance to help you, dear reader, to find these blogs and perhaps be inspired by what they contain, if you haven’t found them already.

Barley cup, red bush tea or rose lemonade.

Pfft…. How long have you got….

I love the smell of lilies. I love Lily of the valley because it was my grandma’s favourite. I love daffodils because they remind me of my Mum. I love snowdrops because my Mum lovingly sewed about a zillion onto a dress for me, for a fancy dress competition at school (I didn’t win).
