English: A panoramic view of Howth harbour.

I never went to Dublin,

or strolled along the shore.

I never walked on Grafton Street,

or wore the pearls you swore.

I never came to visit you,

and relive bygone days;

to welcome ghosts that haunted me,

or weep upon your grave.

Graveyard [1]

Sitting in the gardens,

admiring flower beds,

will you still remember me,

when I am long dead?

Reflections on my past life,

no longer hurt my heart,

for they are now just stories,

from which I am apart.

Mental chatter ceases,

calm imbues my soul,

wisdom and compassion,

start to make me whole.

Although I’m reminiscing,

of all that never was,

I still miss you dearly,

no reason just – because…

Show your sorrow,

tears and all.

Throw down the rain,

let torrents fall.

Show your anger,

in thunderous roar,

roll round the skies,

and then send more.

Show your fury,

with electric strikes,

lightening lights,

with bolts that smite.

I grieve your death,

and so do you.

I see your storms,

the summer through.

You made the same mistake as her;

the truth is staring you in the face,

screaming so loud, you cannot see,

that you walk to the same dark place.

You’ve ventured down this path before

too far, turn back, embrace the pain

shame and defeat, walk hand in hand.

Is it too late to start all over again,

and to make the same mistake as her?

Eight Lilies of remembrance,

stand to mark the way.

Eight lilies, one for each of you,

respect and honour the day;

to show that I still think of you,

though that day is done,

each lily marks a bygone past,

from a lifetime that is gone.

I smell their sweet thick lily scent,

It makes me think of you;

with fondest memories in my heart,

and tears that are now few.

No longer living in my world,

It is as though you’re dead.

The lilies are memorial,

to words still left unsaid.

English: Sca Fell massif from north of Wastwater.

The mossy skin of stark stone walls,

a breath of clouds in a cold October sky,

the haunting call of the hovering kestrel.

The bleak love affair with the unyielding Peaks.

The tangled sheep huddled against the cold North wind,

wool kissed barbs of boundaries breeched,

the wandering yew abandoned on the verge of betrayal.

The dark love affair with the relentless Peaks.

Sca Fell, Peaks probe the gloomy skies,

the bursting spring cascades to punish rocks beneath,

purple rinse resilience of old heather hair.

The stark love affair with the unwieldy Peaks.

Shadows play hide and seek with rocks and hills.

The mournful cry of an old church bell

calls back the congregation of fallen sheep,

to worship the affair with pagan Peaks.

The low slung fog smothers both road and fell,

hushed tones hold the secrets of the hills.

Heaviness hangs as breath is caught,

to hide the love affair of unrequited Peaks.

The wind whispers of its long lost love.

The rain cries bitter tears of remorse.

The pitch black blanket of love wraps around

to shroud the love affair of mourning Peaks.

We are together you and I,

destined to be conjoined.

We cannot part,

though I have tried –

two sides of the same coin.

You have your demons,

I have mine,

our paths not meant to cross,

parted from our distant poles,

without you I am lost.

Your heart refrains my harmony,

our breath is intertwined,

your dreams haunt mine,

I shadow yours,

you dwell within my mind.

Our souls can’t be dissevered,

but neither can they join;

we are from different planets,

defying space and time.

Sun and Moon

English: The Sun directly opposite to the moon...

I’ve seen your face,

a thousand times,

it’s like the setting sun.

I’ve called your name,

have you called mine?

I rise and you are gone.

We are so different,

you and I,

you’re up when I am down.

You call, I run,

but where are you,

when I need a friend around?

You are the sun,

cowardly cold,

remote, aloof, and chilling.

You’ve hid in shadows,

all of my life,

acknowledgement unwilling.

I am the moon,

with passions bright,

your fire sears scars anew.

You wax and wane,

and spin my world,

‘til I don’t know what to do.

I’ve seen your face,

a thousand times,

you’re fire and I am ice.

You’ve broke my heart,

so many times –

Let go – I’ve paid the price.
