Remember not

to forget

to remember

close your eyes

breathe in

breathe out

close your eyes

the silence brings

remembrance

not to forget

to remember

Graveyard [1]

Sitting in the gardens,

admiring flower beds,

will you still remember me,

when I am long dead?

Reflections on my past life,

no longer hurt my heart,

for they are now just stories,

from which I am apart.

Mental chatter ceases,

calm imbues my soul,

wisdom and compassion,

start to make me whole.

Although I’m reminiscing,

of all that never was,

I still miss you dearly,

no reason just – because…

The Poet’s Melancholy

Alas the poet’s sorrow,

I know it well!

Infesting, invading,

the melancholic mind,

destructively, saving,

our urge to write

stirring the soul,

to release and let go,

giving up, and,

giving in,

to inspirations, intuit.

Your only weapon,

pen, ink and wit,

to fight the foes,

with verse and prose,

with the words of a poet,

and the wisdom of the sage,

together we’ll haunt the universe,

with tears and hearts upon our page.
