Dreams disturbing,

most perturbing.

Visions of past,

nightmares that last.

Night-time madness,

lingering sadness,

memory pain,

again and again.

I’m sorry if I don’t get to you,

I apologise, I’m slow,

four hundred plus emails,

my inbox about to blow!

I know I’m not quite regular,

at times I can be slack;

I promise I’ll try to visit you,

and leave a message back!

My stupid orange counter thing,

It only goes to nine;

I have to trawl the comments page,

to check, approve, decline!

The spam thing – what’s all that about?

Messages, I just don’t get??

Enlarge my what?!! Increase my stats?!

Delete, delete, forget!!

I try my best, I really do,

so many blogs to read,

It’s becoming like a full time job,

an assistant, I so need!

I’d like to say to everyone,

who’s liked or followed me,

to each I’d give a big old hug,

you’ve all inspired me!!

Half Light

Rose

In dawns half-light,

half-dreams are born.

Half-shadow is where,

half-ideas start to form;

plucked from my mind,

they dance in my soul,

to blossom then flourish,

and make me feel whole.

Some like a sunset,

vibrant colours shout out,

others shy rainbows,

conditions coaxed out.

The hardest of all –

a verse like a thorn,

agitation and pain,

deliverance when drawn.

Thank You Shantelle!

Candid Concourse http://candidconcourse.wordpress.com/

I’ve been honoured this past week to have been nominated for the, ‘Inspiring Blogger Award’ by Shantelle – http://candidconcourse.wordpress.com/

Thank you – it is always fantastic to be nominated by people who have taken time to visit and read my blog. It is also a good way to provide others with the opportunity to link up to blogs they may not yet have visited.

The guidelines are….

link back to who nominated you

  1. nominate seven blogs
  2. let nominees know by leaving a comment on their sites; and
  3. add the award image to your site
  4. Say seven things about yourself

The rules are to say 7 things about you, and to nominate 7 other blogs so here goes:

  1. I was born with a cleft palate.
  2. If I could choose to be anybody in the world – I would still choose to be me!
  3. If I could choose one super power, it would have to be world domination – so I could put an end to disease, war, inequality, and famine.
  4. I love tiramisu.
  5. My one luxury item on a desert island would be a wind up radio so I could listen to Classic FM.
  6. I love gardening – though I seem to have more snails than plants at the moment!
  7. My favourite daydream is about becoming ordained and also to get a poem or two published. (I know that’s two – but I do now possess world domination – see number 3!!)

And the nominees are:

Thoughts From The Outdoors  http://thoughtsfromtheoutdoors.wordpress.com/

Kira Moore’s Closet http://kiramorrescloset.wordpress.com/

Everyone Has a Story http://birdmartin.wordpress.com/

Wendy Strohm http://wendystrohm.wordpress.com/

Fiazku http://fiazku.wordpress.com/

Veggiewitch http://veggiewitch.wordpress.com/

Preblogger http://chhunc.wordpress.com/

Thank you again to Shantelle – Candid Concourse http://candidconcourse.wordpress.com/

It was really difficult to pick only seven, there are so many blogs out there that are fabulous!

I have tried to choose people who have not received an award, or received this particular award before. If I have nominated you and you do not participate in the awards, please accept my apologies.

Sat here writing,

drinking a brew;

weaving words,

for a poem, or two.

Feel my craft,

a magical spell,

casting its net,

as you sample my hell.

I’ll spin you a line,

to make you feel good,

a twist at the end,

to chill the blood.

Leibster Award

I’ve been honoured this past week to have been nominated for a Liebster Award. The award isn’t voted on by any kind of committee; instead, it is passed from one blogger to another, to recognize fellow bloggers with a sort of cyberspace pat on the back and cheerio. The “rules” for the award specify that, once nominated it is the recipient’s responsibility to:

  1. link back to who nominated you
  2. nominate five blogs with fewer than 200 follows
  3. let nominees know by leaving a comment on their sites; and
  4. add the award image to your site

Thank You!

A big thank you to Andy – ‘a finger pointing’  http://afingerpointing.org for nominating me for this award – please do take a moment to check out their blog, it is well worth it!!

 My Five nominated blogs are:-

  1. Plastic bag poetry  http://plasticbagpoetry.wordpress.com/
  2. Past and Future woven into one  http://bluehav.wordpress.com/
  3. Candid Concourse  http://candidconcourse.wordpress.com/
  4. 75 kaleidoscopes  http://rlbk75.wordpress.com/
  5. Brian Gaynor Photography  http://briangaynorphotography.com

These are a variety of blogs that I really enjoy visiting. It was really, really very difficult to pick only five. There are so many fabulous bloggers out there, and so many talented people to choose from.

Again – a big thank you to Andy – http://afingerpointing.org  for not only nominating me, but also for taking time out to visit.

Liar Liar!

A Lux soap.

You’re a liar!

With your stories –

You don’t know,

what the truth is.

Half told truths,

little white lies,

you’ve added the spin,

to your fantasies.

It’s had to keep up,

as you chatter away,

I don’t believe

a word you say.

Romanticise.

That’s what they say,

for the lies you tell,

and how you behave.

You don’t see the damage,

left in your wake,

destroying lives,

the tongue of a snake.

Now listen to me!

and there’s the rub,

there’s nothing romantic,

in what you’ve become.

A nightingale sings

a wistful melody.

The smell of cherry blossom

on a fresh spring tree.

The smell of lilac

will soon be here,

along with the swallows,

and the summer air.

I never was classed, ‘pretty’,

I was never deemed, ‘a babe’,

I chose instead to use my wit,

and walk the poet’s way.

My years of youth are over,

my life is halfway done,

philosophies from Yoda,

A wise old bird I am.

Rain

The rain it comes

and does not stop,

refreshing crisp and cold.

Wash clean and cleanse,

my tired eyes,

refresh my sleepy soul.

It burns my skin,

and wakes my sense,

it’s kind, but also cruel.

Wash out the dust,

lays bare our soul,

to cleanse the April fool.
