I never was classed, ‘pretty’,
I was never deemed, ‘a babe’,
I chose instead to use my wit,
and walk the poet’s way.
My years of youth are over,
my life is halfway done,
philosophies from Yoda,
A wise old bird I am.

Great poem and I love the ‘bird’. I have one just like it (different colour) given to me by a very dear friend 🙂
Thank you – it must be a friend thing… this bird was given to me by my friend. We have a contest to see who can find the weirdest birthday presents!!
That must be fun 🙂 Much better than boxes of hankiesor chocolates!

Enjoyed the silliness, and the pointedness of this poem. Reminds me of my English side of the family on my mothers side, what a sense of humor- They’re known for laughing at nearly everything, and taking nearly nothing seriously!
Ah – yes – caught red-handed – that sounds rather like me )) sheepish grin((
