Never Trust a Faerie

English: Title: "Fairies Looking Through ...

Never trust a faerie,

‘tho pretty they may seem,

for when you are not looking,

they swear, and spit, and scream.

Do not be fooled by faerie’s,

their legendry looks well known,

they are not sweet, like in the books,

so please do not be thrown.

Depicted as the sweetest sight,

with wings that flitter and flutter,

dresses made of gossamer,

they melt your heart like butter.

It’s little known that faeries bite,

or that they would cause harm;

please don’t blame the insects,

for that nip upon your arm.

With golden curls that tumble down,

around their tiny frame,

with mischief and with sabotage,

the faeries are to blame.

When things go wrong around the house,

you know they are at play,

they wreck your plans, and break your things,

and ruin a good day.

You may think it is admirable,

they collect teeth from your mouth,

but how do you think they get so loose?

They punch the milk teeth out!

Never trust a faerie,

they are evil, sour, and bitter.

Do not be fooled by how they look,

an angry dragon’s sweeter!

I do not like this place.

I don’t belong here,

the stench of death pervades,

yet outside the sun beats down,

hotter than the promised hell.

I do not like this place.

Relics of a bygone day,

guilt and blame pave the way,

to salvation,

but only if you are too weak.

Enough, to believe as

fear holds tight,

demanding allegiance,

to blame and sin;

dragged screaming from within,

without compassion,

or mercy,

for the weak –

End.

I do not like this place,

I do not belong here,

for the stench of death,

offends my soul.

Thank You Resa!

Queen’s End http://resamcconaghy.com

I’ve been honoured this past week to have been nominated for the, ‘The Beautiful Blogger Award’ by Resa – http://resamcconaghy.com

Thank you – it is always fantastic to be nominated by people who have taken time to visit and read my blog. It is also a good way to provide others with the opportunity to link up to blogs they may not yet have visited. Please visit Resa’s blog, she is a bright and unique blogger, I am thoroughly enjoying following her posts!

The guidelines are….

link back to who nominated you

  1. Nominate six or seven blogs
  2. let nominees know by leaving a comment on their sites; and
  3. add the award image to your site

I am going to cheat slightly and only nominate three as I have received a couple of awards this week and I don’t want to overwhelm people with nominations!!

And the nominees are:

Thoughts From The Outdoors  http://thoughtsfromtheoutdoors.wordpress.com/

Wendy Strohm http://wendystrohm.wordpress.com/

Polly http://journalread.wordpress.com/

Thank you again to Resa – Queen’s End http://resamcconaghy.com

We are together you and I,

destined to be conjoined.

We cannot part,

though I have tried –

two sides of the same coin.

You have your demons,

I have mine,

our paths not meant to cross,

parted from our distant poles,

without you I am lost.

Your heart refrains my harmony,

our breath is intertwined,

your dreams haunt mine,

I shadow yours,

you dwell within my mind.

Our souls can’t be dissevered,

but neither can they join;

we are from different planets,

defying space and time.

You think you are the King of me,

I am not scared of you.

I’ll stand my ground, as I am strong;

a core of steel runs through.

Whatever daemons you may throw,

I’ll match them with mine own.

You can’t usurp the Queen of pain,

her heart is made of stone.

Sun and Moon

English: The Sun directly opposite to the moon...

I’ve seen your face,

a thousand times,

it’s like the setting sun.

I’ve called your name,

have you called mine?

I rise and you are gone.

We are so different,

you and I,

you’re up when I am down.

You call, I run,

but where are you,

when I need a friend around?

You are the sun,

cowardly cold,

remote, aloof, and chilling.

You’ve hid in shadows,

all of my life,

acknowledgement unwilling.

I am the moon,

with passions bright,

your fire sears scars anew.

You wax and wane,

and spin my world,

‘til I don’t know what to do.

I’ve seen your face,

a thousand times,

you’re fire and I am ice.

You’ve broke my heart,

so many times –

Let go – I’ve paid the price.

Summer balm weighs heavy

my heart can hear the trill

remains there barren still

to appease the Mother’s will

Demonised and vilified,

I worshipped and adored.

You lost your way and injured me,

betrayed, abused, ignored.

That pedestal was way too high,

for you to stay upright;

alas your world came tumbling down,

your reign fell overnight.

Naivety and ignorance,

fell from my tired eyes,

I see you for your human self,

you simply were not nice.

My tummy feels like summer,

or a giggle just set free,

like a flitter of lairy butterflies,

and a swarm of buzzy bees.

My heart beats to the rhythm,

of girls who jump the rope,

bouncing like a bright beach ball,

shown on some Oscilloscope.

My mind spins like the waltzer,

at a gaily lit up fair.

My head is full of candy floss,

and kites that surf the air.

If I could catch the essence,

and save a jar or two,

I’d keep them in my cupboard,

for when I’m feeling blue.

Freshly Pressed Poets

Is it me?

Am I being strange?

But have you noticed,

it’s always the same?

Just take a moment…

and take a gander,

freshly pressed poetry,

nope, nothing, nichts, nada!

Just Freshly Pressed –

is a great concept!

sporting quality posts,

just no poetry yet?

It is such a shame,

they’ve missed out on a trick,

so many great poets,

from which they could pick.

I have a dream,

let’s hope it comes true,

that one day soon,

a pressed poet or two?
