You think you are the King of me,
I am not scared of you.
I’ll stand my ground, as I am strong;
a core of steel runs through.
Whatever daemons you may throw,
I’ll match them with mine own.
You can’t usurp the Queen of pain,
her heart is made of stone.

Well this is just a perfect concise poem…love the attitude
Haha – yes Tonight David I am a poet with attitude!
Thank you 🙂
Another well done poem!
Aw thank you very much 🙂
I love the succinct simplicity – maybe took longer than one might imagine to compose?
Actually – I was writing sorrow and these two verses crept in, but they were more attitude than sorrow, so I ended up with two for the price of one – they were dissevered in the end!!!
Thank you 🙂
Yes, I see it … what a fabulous word ‘dissevered’ is …
Ah – the credit goes to Edgar Allan Poe – Annabel Lee
loved the word ever since I discovered it!!
heh-heh, of course (she says like she already knew that … might have done once, but had forgotten … did she ever know it? heh-heh) x
Hands up… I only discovered it after Stevie Nicks made it into a song 🙂
Though I do like Mr EAP – I find some of his stuff a bit intense 🙂
Ah, Stevie Nicks, NOW you’re talking! Fleetwood Mac, oh yes, way up there with my favourites. I recall Nicks had a tour in US called Little White Rose / Dove or something similar in the 90’s – her voice is amazing – is she back with Lindsay Buckingham now? Something tells me she might be, or maybe that’s only musically … oh gawd, here we go again, Alex, off down memory lane 🙂
Haha – sorry! Yes she is still performing. The song you are thinking of is Edge of seventeen (just like the white winged dove…). No she isn’t back with Mr B – he is now married to a famous photographer and has two kids.
Oh heck – how nerdy am I…
Well, there you go – she’s fab, anyway – always loved her clothes, drapey things, wondrous …
Sounds like a woman poem. I know these words in many forms the years living with a man. 😀 Very nice job.
haha thank you! I think you are right!! 🙂
