My tummy feels like summer,
or a giggle just set free,
like a flitter of lairy butterflies,
and a swarm of buzzy bees.
My heart beats to the rhythm,
of girls who jump the rope,
bouncing like a bright beach ball,
shown on some Oscilloscope.
My mind spins like the waltzer,
at a gaily lit up fair.
My head is full of candy floss,
and kites that surf the air.
If I could catch the essence,
and save a jar or two,
I’d keep them in my cupboard,
for when I’m feeling blue.

Now if anyone would have told me that I could get the word oscilloscope into a verse I would have thought them daft!!!!
Haha, that was a pretty impressive accomplishment. I have to admit I did a double-take when I first read that line.
Also, I decided to have a little poetry contest on our Funny Names Blog commemorating this morning’s Nipsey Russell post, and you came to mind immediately as someone who might enjoy it. I’ll be posting the winner(s) in an upcoming post with a link to their blog. We’re still a humble little blog averaging just above 200 hits a day, but it could help you reach a new audience, and honestly, it’s kind of a fun poem structure too.
Anyway, just wanted to mention that in case you were interested. Your consonance and alliteration in the first stanza of this poem is pretty darn awesome!
Hi Dave – thank you so much ))beams((
I will check out ol’ Nipsey 😀
I have a bipolar hit rate with little regularity, anywhere from 16 to 220 per day!! Haha!
Thank you for passing on the info and do get treatment for thinking about my poetry, I’m sure it can be cured!! 🙂
A very clever poem!
Thank you 🙂
I’ll save you a jar 🙂
That would be a trick to save in a jar. Cute poem. 🙂
Aw thank you so much – you’re welcome to share my jars of silly giggles and candy floss 🙂
