Alexandra Carr-Malcolm, always on my mind, heartbreak, longing, loss, love, Love song, memories, our tune, poetry, radio, tears, yesteryear

Bush Radio

This is my,

very last love,

song to you.

It is time to,

say goodbye,

and move,

on.

I heard, our tune,

on the radio today,

it took me back.

Oh – how the years,

have dropped away.

I stopped to listen,

I thought things through,

a silent tear escaped,

as I remember how,

I still love you.

The years have come,

and the years have gone,

without you by my side,

the echoes of my yesteryear,

sing, always on my mind.

This is my,

very last love,

song to you.

It is time to,

say goodbye,

and move,

on.

Tax Bill

When debts come in the letterbox,

then love flies out for sure,

the better becomes the worse,

at the scourge of being poor.

The heart beats with a sickness,

at the signs you can’t ignore;

the stress and strain is showing,

as we begin to talk no more.

We’re hoping for the better,

for the richer, and for wealth,

don’t hold your breath whilst waiting,

it’s not good for your health!

Camargue horse

Flaming flamingos,

cantering Camargues,

exotic, erotic,

the passions are ours.

Gossamer lace wings,

and butterflies hearts,

so fragile, so delicate,

can tear us apart.

Humming bird’s tears,

and bumble bee breath,

a delicate balance,

of grief brought by death.

Blue Moon Blue

Giving up and,

giving in…

a writers’ pain,

a lovers’ dream.

Blue moons come,

and blue moons go,

the pain remains,

of losing you.

The thought of,

having you no more,

is like the song,

without the score.

To give you up,

without a doubt?

but only when,

the blue moon’s out.

Broken Angel

An angel with,

a broken wing,

can be the most,

dangerous thing.

Hurt her once,

injure her thrice,

her heart one day,

will thaw like ice.

And once that hurt,

is healed and done,

she’ll fly from you,

up to the sun.

You’d better watch,

your back, I say,

lest she throw a,

thunderbolt your way!

How can the sea,

leave the shore?

How can the moon,

the stars ignore?

How can I live,

without my heart,

and grieve for you,

whilst we’re apart?

How can my sun,

no longer shine?

I will not see,

sunrise sublime.

How can the word,

without the book,

the empty nest,

without the rook.

How can the empty

space be filled?

By graduations,

new lives rebuild.

Books

I cherish your words

like children,

I watch them grow

within my heart;

some may heal,

and some bring joy,

whilst others may,

tear us apart.

Each one of them,

brings joy and pain,

with each a gift,

in equal measure.

I hold your words,

the nettle grasped,

may sting my soul,

but each I treasure.
