when you die –
leave me a kiss,

Sapphire seas,
tourmaline trees,
the sun shining sweetest nectar.
I soar in the skies,
whilst skimming the seas,
protected by Isis and Hector.
The stars line the way,
whilst the trees bow to me,
and the gulls cry out jubilations!
Old Father Time and Mother Earth smiles,
as the world spins in sweet salvation.

We are together you and I,
destined to be conjoined.
We cannot part,
though I have tried –
two sides of the same coin.
You have your demons,
I have mine,
our paths not meant to cross,
parted from our distant poles,
without you I am lost.
Your heart refrains my harmony,
our breath is intertwined,
your dreams haunt mine,
I shadow yours,
you dwell within my mind.
Our souls can’t be dissevered,
but neither can they join;
we are from different planets,
defying space and time.

My tummy feels like summer,
or a giggle just set free,
like a flitter of lairy butterflies,
and a swarm of buzzy bees.
My heart beats to the rhythm,
of girls who jump the rope,
bouncing like a bright beach ball,
shown on some Oscilloscope.
My mind spins like the waltzer,
at a gaily lit up fair.
My head is full of candy floss,
and kites that surf the air.
If I could catch the essence,
and save a jar or two,
I’d keep them in my cupboard,
for when I’m feeling blue.

April fool, love, poetry, rain, soul
The rain it comes
and does not stop,
refreshing crisp and cold.
Wash clean and cleanse,
my tired eyes,
refresh my sleepy soul.
It burns my skin,
and wakes my sense,
it’s kind, but also cruel.
Wash out the dust,
lays bare our soul,
to cleanse the April fool.

How I lived,
loved, and
lost,
in a
day.
A crisp winter
walk. Breath.
November
skies so
fresh.
Suffocating summer
afternoons, spent
making love, in
your bedroom.
Passionate.
Autumn abandonment.
Love tossed aside.
Sad, bitter tears,
words said,
love dead.
Armchair reminiscence,
so long ago,
memories,
spring,
forth.
How I lived,
loved, and
lost,
in a
day.

childhood, comfort, dog, first love, love, memories, teddy bear
and clung to you,
my love for you untold.
I stared into you deep brown eyes,
my heart was yours to hold.
So soft to touch,
I kept you close,
I kissed your furry ears.
My love, my friend, my confidante,
my darling teddy bear.
You shared my secrets,
calmed my fears,
as you watched over me.
You’ve watched me grow over the years,
a birthday gift at three.
You stood by me,
in hours of need,
and protected me at night.
When I was ill, you’d comfort me,
and soothe me ‘til the light.
I cried for you,
and made a fuss,
my teddy bear most dear;
hanging wet upon the line,
one peg upon each ear.
We’ve had our scrapes,
both you and me,
but survived them none the less;
the time the dog played tug o’ war…
but I sewed back your head.
Now I’m grown,
no more a child,
It’s you that I adore.
Although you’re bald, you’re my first love,
my one eyed teddy bear.

I have a list of dreams to fill,
before my time is through;
although they may seem fanciful,
I wish they will come true.
I want to be an artist,
on the riverbank of life.
To wear a smock and sip champagne,
whilst painting with my knife.
I want to write a book or two –
a literary success!
A story of my coloured life,
upon the library shelf.
To be a renowned poetess,
publish a rhyme or two.
To find my muse in poetry,
and fall in love with you.
I’d like to write a sad song,
that makes the toughest weep,
to be played at all the funerals,
as the coffin is lowered deep.
I want to live just by the sea,
in a white house with a view
of waves that crash upon the shores,
where I could stand with you.
Most of all, be in your arms
and spend with you some time,
gazing at the moonlit stars,
whilst sipping white chilled wine.

as my life ebbs away.
I wonder how I will feel,
when it becomes my day?
Will I be filled with remorse,
for things I never did?
Will I experience regret,
for things I never said?
Will I be filled with anger,
for things I didn’t do?
Because the time just slipped
away, before I even knew.
Will I think about you,
as I’m taking my last breath?
Will you even be there,
as I walk towards my death?

Look in my eyes,
tell me you care.
Tell me the truth –
If you dare.
Don’t look away
from me again.
I know your heart,
I see your pain.
I know your mind,
I see your fear;
I look away
to hide my tears.
One day my friend,
we may be free,
to sit and talk,
and share some tea.
