I sit at my desk,

the whole house a mess,

pen gripped in my teeth,

musing.

Formed feelings I know,

as the words start to flow,

and I tap at the keys,

making verses.

Sometimes the poems spring,

from the deepness within,

some syllabic style skill,

weaving words.

The craft I possess,

with gymnastic prowess,

and a rhythmical rhyme.

Exhalation!

When we die,

we go to hell –

she cries.

That’s not true,

we learn to fly –

he says.

I think we stay,

reborn –

to live another day.

That can’t be!

We’re dead and gone,

for all eternity.

Some hymn sings,

we get our angel wings;

But I don’t care,

all I know, is

you’re not

here.

I am a contradiction!

Damaged and fragile,

a smashed up china doll.

Introvert and quiet,

a lone snowdrop,

passed unnoticed –

unwatched and unobserved.

Inside –

a cavern.

Older than time itself.

Deep and hidden,

solid,

like a foundation.

Ever there, ever present,

with a core of steel.

Immovable.

Determined.

A stormy winters night,

brooding and moody,

ethereal, transcendent,

not belonging.

Like a storm cloud passing through.

I am a contradiction,

with a beating

heart.

I saw an old man

dance a jig,

with betting slip,

waved as his flag.

With tombstone teeth

and nicotine nails,

long matted hair

and yellow wolf eyes.

His dirty clothes,

shone black with smoke,

his fragrance that of

proudest poverty.

I saw an old man

dance a jig today,

clutching victory,

by the betting shop door.

Lilith (1892) by John Collier in Southport Atk...

Walking up to the edge,

I face the abyss,

death screams through my blood,

at mortality’s kiss.

Do I step forward,

or do I step back?

I feel it so close,

on this cold ruthless track.

No one has noticed,

what’s happening within.

The clues are all there,

so pale, cold and thin.

Dancing the waltz,

life partnering death,

my demon will steal,

my last precious breath.

He will feast on my spirit,

and defile my soul,

as we dance the last dance,

with my blood running cold.

My heart is Kshanti.

Scarred with forbearance

from the actions of those un-awakened

to the compassion from transformation.

It beats with the patience,

the waiting and longing,

of better times

to come.

The rhythm

of the beat

is endurance;

a longing, that one day,

awakening will open the eyes,

to the universe.

Ecstasy

Inside my being

A bubbling brook

Chattering sparrows

The joy of the first crocus

The warm blush of the sun

The beauty of a brooding sunset

Deep within the shadows of my mind

There is a desire and longing for rest

To slip from this mortal world

Recline within white clouds

And to leave this land

For one more gentle

Most welcoming

Less demanding

Encompassing

Eternal

Sleep

The Liebster Award

I’ve been honoured this week to have been nominated for a Liebster Award. The award isn’t voted on by any kind of committee; instead, it is passed from one blogger to another, to recognize fellow bloggers with a sort of cyberspace pat on the back and cheerio. The “rules” for the award specify that, once nominated it is the recipient’s responsibility to:

  1. link back to who nominated you
  2. nominate five blogs with fewer than 200 follows
  3. let nominees know by leaving a comment on their sites; and
  4. add the award image to your site

Thank You!

A big thank you to cloudfactor5 http://cloudfactor5.wordpress.com for nominating me for this award – please do take a moment to check out their blog, it is well worth it!!

 My Five nominated blogs are:-

  1. Kira Moore http://kiramorrescloset.wordpress.com/
  2. Resting in Awareness http://restinginawareness.com/
  3. Polly http://journalread.wordpress.com/
  4. My Life Uncut Almost http://mylifeuncutalmost.wordpress.com/
  5. Peace the consciousness http://starsrainsunmoon.com

These are a variety of blogs that I really enjoy visiting. It was really, really very difficult to pick only five. There are so many fabulous bloggers out there, and so many talented people to choose from.

Again – a big thank you to cloudfactor5 for not only nominating me, but also for taking time out to visit my blog and offer words of encouragement 🙂

Burning my memories,

one by one.

Igniting past pains,

cauterising old wounds.

Flaming, hot, words,

vitriolic in verse.

Flagellation, flagration,

purge passions, past-tense.

Incinerate insinuations,

imaginings real.

Immolate in sincerity,

allows hearts to heal.

In a blaze of gold glory,

the past is undone;

to rise like the phoenix,

from the flames of the sun.
