Motorway driving
lights whip by
wipers wiping
mists spray high
Visibility low
concentration high
cheek by jowl
lorries flash by
Black night darkness
heavy in heart
low visibility
from the start
Cat’s eyes visionary
unnoticed by day
celestial markers
guiding the way
Motorway driving
a challenging night
homeward I’m bound
destination in sight

I do relate to what you’re saying!
Thank you 🙂
I do a lot of travelling for my job and I don’t like driving in rainy conditions especially at night time – ugh!!

I really like this – great image too! It reminds me of one I wrote years ago and may post in the near future. I think I’ll include a link to this wonderful post at the bottom with the title ‘related reading’ or some such thing. You have put these driving thoughts down to poetry so beautifully. Thank you for sharing Alex! ~hugs, Gina
Aw thanks Gina! Thank you for considering to include me too!! I wrote this after a rather intense winter drive to a meditation class. Every week a team of six drive over to a nearby town to lead a meditation class – the winter driving can be somewhat challenging!
