The toilet is a clever thing
with a lid, most like a door;
so please don’t wee upon the seat
or pee upon the floor!
Microwave or cooker,
it really matters not,
this magical flamboyance
will make your meals get hot.
Dishwashers are quite practical,
they clean pots ’til they gleam.
No clever sleight or trick to it,
just put the damn things in!
Crockery -or pots as we call them
are aids to keep you fed,
they aren’t for decoration,
don’t put them under your bed!
Food is quite sensational,
groovy in every way;
but when I go out shopping
don’t eat it in a day.
Clothes are sneaky demons,
they hide and split and breed,
but when they are all dirty
please put them in the machine.
Doors really are quite functional
they keep out draft and cold
and if you are from Derbyshire,
we say * ‘put wood in t’hole!’
The dog is cute, the dog is cool,
on this I must agree;
get of your arse, once in a while,
and take him for a wee.
I am your Mum – pink is my colour,
pink means it is MY stuff,
from ipod, pens to scarf and socks,
just keep your damn hands off!
* Derbyshire saying meaning – shut the door!!!

Ah you feel the pain too! 😀
Made me laugh and think of my mother! Wonderful ❤ 🙂
Oh dear! 😀
Thank you for reading and taking the time to comment! 🙂
Great blog! I have a sixteen, almost seventeen year old son. Where to put the banana skin once you’ve eaten the banana? Well, obviously exactly where you ate the banana. The bin? Where’s that? The recycling bin – no idea what that is!
Thank you!
))shudders(( bananas – have you ever discovered a 3 week old banana in the bottom of a lego box? – they turn grey and slimy, they melt!
My son managed to throw his dirty clothes in the tumble dryer and then spent ages trying to figure out where to put the powder 8(
Ah, nice post Alex,
Very true. Reading your poem reminds me
of my twin sons when they were still small kids.
😉
Yes! Mine are now teenagers – harder to understand and control!!
Thank you for commenting 🙂
I have been there!! Except my colour is yellow 🙂 Three sons (and one wonderful daughter) and now the eldest is the father of a beautiful baby son – one day he will understand why his mother’s eyes spent so much time rolling 🙂
Haha oh I’m looking forward to Grandchildren one day – at least you can hand them back at the end of the day!! 🙂
Unfortunately, mine is a long way away – my son lives in Queensland while I’m in Victoria but I fly up when I can and they are visiting later this year 🙂
