Just sitting…
Just sitting on this mat,
my mind like a Cat.
Is herding cats quite possible?
I ponder; be philosophical!
Just sitting…
Just sitting on this mat,
my mind like a Puma.
Sleek and slick and lurking,
my fantasies still flirting!
Just sitting…
Just sitting on this mat,
my mind like a Tiger.
Hunting prey and stalking,
when do the thoughts stop talking?
Just sitting…
Just sitting on this mat,
my mind like an Ocelot.
No reason to this rhyme,
but to highlight I cough a lot!
Just sitting…
Just sitting on this mat,
my mind like a Lion.
Ferocious and unstoppable,
Enlightenment quite possible!

This poem would rarely be attributed to a dog, with their whipping tails and drool. It’s the cat that ponders, the cat that thinks, and the cat that simply sits. I like this a lot, becasue I think the cat emulates people well. We do sit on mats all day, perched in our desks, sprawled on the couch, sleeping in our beds, and everything looks quiet, but we’re not – not really. We have our minds, and we don’t always wear our emotions on our sleeves. If we did, we would lose what makes us human.
Thank you!
I agree – although I think my mind sometimes races around like a puppy chasing its own tail!!
You can try herd them, but they will still walk aroun knocking things over at night
Wonderful conveyance of a typical sit
“Mind. What mind? Mind is luminosity”
Maybe it’s cat-in-the-hat rhyme that’s now stuck in my head, but this has a Dr. Seuss-feeling to it. Maybe because the word “Ocelot” is so rarely used that it seems like a fictional creature.
I ponder upon the wonder of the Ocelot that isn’t yonder, but rather fonder of a cheese fondue.
enjoyed this
Thank you very much 🙂
