Happy Birthday to my remarkable mother – missed every hour of every day.

For my Mum…

I looked through the window,

I thought I saw you;

just a hint of a memory

that I wanted to view.

A past life once lived;

a deep memory pain.

I had to control myself

from calling your name.

Her walk was all wrong

and her hair, not the same,

but she had the same clothes

as I saw in my dream.

I followed behind her

and hoped to see

that it really was you

as you used to be.

I knew it was futile

and couldn’t be true;

you’ve been gone these six years,

it couldn’t be you.

Shall I tell you what I believe?

It changes daily with the breeze.

Reflect and pause,

pause and think…

Believe nothing.

amazing dawn chorus

It’s six o’clock in the morning,

the dawn chorus performing,

I didn’t sleep a wink last night,

as I cried, and put the world to rights.

The world continues turning,

tears leave my eyes burning,

it’s over and done, your finally gone,

leaving my broken heart yearning.

My Love

Dare you stroll

down Memory Lane?

Can you step out

with me?

I will,

if you will.

Will you walk

into the unknown?

I will,

if you will.

Dare you take a leap

of faith?

I will,

if you will.

Would you fall,

head over heels?

I will,

if you will.

Say I love you?

I will,

will you?

Dare you!

Hoar frost on a rose.

No money can her beauty buy,

enchanting all she touches,

virgin white and transient,

the hoar frost kiss the bushes.

Spider’s webs of crystal tears,

furry leaves of velvet feathers,

stalagmite grass revering skies,

leidenfrost cloaks of weather.

Oh I love this poem!!

dagdapublishing's avatarDagda Publishing

He said he liked my shoes
sitting across from me
after he said we haven’t talked in a while.

I want to tell him everything
as I laugh at his ridiculous beard
then I tell him it’s the middle of summer.

When we make plans for tomorrow
my heart and my lips smile
then he looks sad, he forgot he has to work tomorrow.

Some other time I say
happy I got to share this moment with him
because we haven’t talked in a while.

I don’t realize how longs he stays
until he says he better be going
I smile and tell him I’ll talk to him tomorrow.

He tells me he’ll call
after he reminds me he has to go home soon
I know I may never see him again.

I hope we still talk
maybe we’ll even visit one another
for now I’ll just look at my…
