Stuck on a train,
delays again,
waiting’s a pain;
here comes the rain,
and I’m stuck on a train.
All that rushing in vain,
it’s always the same,
passengers complain,
as we’re stuck on the train,
watching the rain…

It’s the hustle and bustle of rush hour. I remember so well. I enjoyed great naps or a good book during those delays. Your words drew great images for me.
Aw thank you! I use the time to write and day dream 🙂
This poem made me chuckle after today’s big news in Toronto: the commuter train company will now reimburse passengers any time it runs 15 minutes late!
Phewee! Couldn’t do that in the UK or they would be bankrupt within a week!! 🙂
Ha, well, I think it addresses the negative economic impact of constantly getting everyone to work late and also of putting people off using transit and thereby causing severe gridlock on the roads.
They would step up their game!
Too true!
Love the sound of the train, the onomatopoeia, wondrous 🙂
Thank you! Not long after writing that the student opposite me (on the train) offered me a satsuma! Haha – so not everyone was complaining!
