Rain falls,
bird calls,
flaming June,
storms straight through,
summer winds,
never ends,
grey skies,
no flies!
Grass wet –
you bet!
Rivers flood,
the garden’s mud,
no picnics planned,
yet hosepipes banned.
Summer blues,
still in shoes,
woollies on,
summer’s gone!

I read it. Then I chanted it. Then I sang it. Marvelous words creating wonderful images of the summer we haven’t had. Virginia
How brilliant!
I am an optimist – let’s hope for a Jubilant July and an amazing August!! 🙂
Alex

Thank you David! We are having a very wet and stormy summer here – yet we’ve had hosepipe bans in a lot of places – crazy weather -crazy world! 🙂
Hi Alex,
I love the shifting colors of the image which match the very colorful lyrics of your poem. And yes, summer may be gone; only to be back again next year. Let’s all look forward to its return.
Enjoy life!
😉
Thank you very much – I think the seasons may be changing – we seem to be experiencing a monsoon season! It is very interesting – the plants in the garden have never looked so beautiful and green! 🙂
Fabulous…
Thank you Wendy 🙂
It’s hard to read the truth sometimes! What a summer ‘eh?
Oh yes! As the weather declines the electricity bills go up! 😦
