Robin in the green,
camouflaged unseen,
always stands alone,
and in the summer gone.
Through arctic ice and snow,
you’re always there on show,
pitched on a handle’s fork,
whilst the gardener works.
Despite the bitter chill,
your sight brings festive thrill,
iconic feathered friend,
who stays ‘til winters end.
Solitary bird,
your song remains unheard,
hiding in the green,
camouflaged, unseen.

Thank you Natalie. I have a robin that visits my garden regularly, but he is very territorial and chases off all the other birds!

That’s so good to see a robin poem – first one I’ve seen yet! 🙂 Very much describes the robin, and despite all that glorious orange/red, they really do hide unseen! Clever little things, they will reappear when I start weeding though – they come to collect all the little insects left behind! 🙂

Thank you 🙂 I’ve not seen many robin poems about at the moment either – they must be hiding 🙂
