The verses I write,
from events that I see,
might not be your,
cup of rosy hot tea!
Not being clever,
don’t write to impress,
not for the glory,
or the fame of success.
I like to connect,
to thrill and inspire,
I don’t write of love,
all that passion and fire…
My lines are quite plain,
not obscure or sublime,
just everyday stuff,
caught up in a line.
If I am lucky,
I might make you think,
to stop and to ponder,
just before your next blink.
I hope that you feel,
you could do this too,
so pick up a pen,
and give it a go!

What a wonderful story, beautiful written as you always do. This has to be one of my favourites of yours (ok I hate favourites so it’s in my top ten!). Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us here, and for encouraging us all to do the same. Big hugs to you sweet lady! xo ~Gina
Aw thanks Gina – I’ve been so busy recently- I’ve been accumulating and writing poems but not much time to visit wordpress! I’m glad you enjoyed it! Alex oxo 🙂
beautifully complex in its simplicity
Thank you very much 🙂
I’m a simple person 🙂
it is hard being simple – takes a lot of thought
Oh so very true – stillness, simplicity and contentment – that is my goal (not that I manage to achieve it often!!)
Beautiful.
Aw thank you very much – I am glad that you enjoyed it 🙂
Always enjoy! Beautiful words!
thank you *grins*
