Amber autumn,
carpets the ground,
teardrop leaves,
fluttering down.
Her beauty has faded,
her season is gone,
the harshness reflected,
in the cold winter sun.
Summer swifts sing,
their final love song,
as they take to the wing,
they no longer belong.
She weeps tears of petals,
as her dreams decompose,
her lover has left her,
to winter’s repose.

Very nicely written.
Thank you – inspired by the beautiful amber autumn colours 🙂
How lovely ~ autumn personified ~ and the repetition of tears enhances the sadness of the season ~ nice write Alex
Aw thank you – I’m finding it hard to keep up with blogging at the moment as I’m travelling further afield to work – luckily it is inspiring new poems! 🙂
