There is something wrong,
a part of me’s broke,
it’s true, I’m not messing,
it’s really no joke!
I’ve known for a while now,
without much real doubt,
when I was created,
they missed a bit out.
You know how I know?
It’s quite simple, you see,
the odd one out,
It is always me!
I stand in a room,
full of people – and me,
they talk and they chatter,
I’m as quiet as could be.
I feel quiet, and awkward,
don’t know what to say,
I try to join in,
but feel in the way.
I once went for lessons,
to be more assertive,
to learn how to fit in,
not to be shy and furtive.
Needless to say,
it just didn’t work,
you can’t fix what’s broken,
if it’s simply a quirk.
So I stand in a corner,
and try to blend in,
hope nobody notices,
the pickle I’m in!

You work just fine for me, you oddball!
Hahaha 😀
Yikes! You sound as if you know me!
I think a lot of people will recognise something of themselves in this!!
you saw me at that party didn’t you?
Hehe yes I was stood in the opposite corner!
we should have talked!
I felt too awkward!! Lol!
next time then — I am the girl in the glasses with leopad legs (the glasses have leopard legs–not me)
Haha I will be the one looking intently at the books on the bookcase! 🙂
see you there — we should get ourselves a glass of wine next time! (white for me, as I tend to spill)
