I cry to the universe –
You decide!
Should I live,
or should I die?
It gives me an answer,
I can’t ignore;
so I pick up my pen,
and write some more.
With this decision,
comes peace and oneness,
acceptance of life,
which hurts none the less.
The die is cast,
but with that said,
I patiently wait,
for the day of the dead.

Heavy! I think when we sometimes explore the scary, bad or sad, we can value fluffy, good and happy better.
Well… it could be about a death of one’s self and the emergence of an even better new self – there’s always positives to the negatives 🙂
I agree.

Hi Alex,
Very profound lyrics here…
Keep writing, even as our final destiny is inevitable
and our mortality beckons.
Thank you – once in a while I can be profound 😀
Lovely, as always!
Thank you very much 🙂
Powerful! Certainly some sadness and anguish, but I sense a great faith through it all. Thank you for sharing your strength through these amazing words. hugs, Gina
Thank you again!!
This poem is more about spiritual death rather than actual physical death – about the shedding of the old self and allowing a new – hopefully – better self to emerge 🙂
