My tummy feels like summer,
or a giggle just set free,
like a flitter of lairy butterflies,
or a swarm of buzzy bees.
My heart beats to the rhythm,
of girls who jump the rope,
bouncing like a bright beach ball,
shown on some Oscilloscope.
My mind spins like the waltzer,
at a gaily lit up fair.
My head is full of candy floss,
and kites that surf the air.
If I could catch the essence,
and save a jar or two,
I’d keep them in my cupboard,
for when I’m feeling blue.

How lovely1
Thank you Micheline 🙂
Ohhh, I love this poem. “My head is full of candy floss…” Sweet and wonderful.
Thank you. It is a fun poem 🙂
Beautiful visual. I can smell the fair with your words.
There’s something magical about a fairground when you are a child. You don’t see the mud or the flaking paint only the bright colours and lights 🙂
Pretty – lovely rhythm 🙂
Yhanks Polly. I was reasonably impressed that I managed to get oscilloscope into a poem – where did that come from?!
Pretty cool 🙂
Blimey I need to stop sending messages without my glasses on !!! 🙂
