Do you see into the poet’s soul?
Your stare puts me on edge.
I’m sat before you naked;
you write on my blank page.
I saw you, I know you,
and it took me by surprise.
I really didn’t think that,
you’d see into these poet’s eyes.

Nice post. 😀
Thank yo very much 🙂
A lovely tribute to an unknown person…can I ask whether ‘these’ in the final line is a typo? I took the poem to refer to ‘a poet’, ‘this poet’, rather than ‘these poets’ eyes’…
Hmmm you got me thinking – I had meant these as in a group, but this does scan much better! This came from a writing group that I did a long time ago. It was one of those rare moments of connection 🙂 (I feel an edit coming on!!) Thank you!!
