With tick after tock
as life leaves the clock,
time is ebbing away,
and tock before tick,
where time starts to slip,
reality shrouded in grey.
The pendulum swings
as the death knell rings
night bleeds into day,
as midnight chimes,
love’s sleep is sublime,
youth has out welcomed its stay.

great topic!!
Thank you 🙂
Ah…for whom the bell chimes…
Othrwise known as -Ah thebells, the bells! 🙂
Beautiful and concise. I couldn’t help but think of those times I have contemplated my own death (not that I’m in any rush to get there, but simply wondering about the path that I am taking along the way). I particularly loved the way you ended it, that last line hit hardest, and the reversal of words made it all the more poignant. Thank you for this.
Thank you very much indeed! People come into our lives and leave an imprint on our hearts.
