I have just heard about the sudden death of Peaches Geldof and it has saddened and shocked me. I am not posting a poem that I had mapped out for today. Instead I am reposting this poem which was written after the sudden loss of a young family member. Utter sympathy goes out to her family, children, and loved ones.
Dedicated to all those gone, too soon and too young –
Always in our hearts…
How can it be?
When it is not natural.
Not this way,
from the blind side.
How can it be?
Order?
When it is out of order,
out of the ordinary,
extra ordinary.
You oxymoron,
natural order.
How can it be?

What a lovely tribute – you’ve made me weep Alex xx
This news has really upset me and I don’t know why :*(
… so much and so little to say Alex – so young, such a tragedy. It shouldn’t happen. xx
All I can say is – oh God not again. The pain and devastation that is left behind. Some scars never really heal, they just fade and can suddenly inflame with news like this. Poor, poor family and her babies…
I know honey – it’s all wrong xx
Indeed it is! ❤
Also stunned and saddened by the news and appreciate this remarkably subtle tribute and quietly angry piece.
Thank you 🙂
Words fail me at the moment.
Strange do not know her from Adam – and yet it sort of hit a chord.
I think it brings home that no matter how talented, wealthy whatever anyone is – we are none of us immune from whatever made this pretty young mother either take her life , or lose her life to some illness.
None of us know what tomorrow may bring – or what is really going on deep inside each of us.
Condolences to all her family and friends.
Beautiful words Poppy.
Well said
Thank you 🙂
You’re welcome
