Enough!
I exclaim.
I’ve had enough!
I take a house brick
and lob it into the still water,
causing the matrimonial boat to capsize.
I am forty seven and I’ve had enough.
I will pout and stamp my foot
and wait for the waves
of discontent to wash
against my shoes.
Once and for all
I have had
Enough!

I hear you!! Now does the storm that you are shouting at?! I love the way your poem created a pattern on the page.
Aw thanks, would have liked the second like to be a few letters longer and spent ages playing around with different words, but in the end I left it alone 🙂
I have to smile at this one..
for I had the same thought this morning…
I like your enough very much…!
Thank you for sharing and being somewhat paralelle in thought today..
Take Care…You Matter…

Thank you Maryrose – Hmmm I think we all get those – Enough! moments! 😀
Alex
❤
I’ve had thoughts like these over the past 18 years occasionally – you write them so well. Fortunately, I’ve found that marriage continues to chug along mostly happily as long as only one person is seriously unhappy with the other at any one time – with periods of complete contentment in between. So far, it works.
Hahaha – Sounds about right 🙂
what a derelict some storms can be! Wonderful ! Sincerely Debbie
Indeed – but after the storm, what a fresh feeling 🙂
Had enough then, have you? Me too! 😉
😀
…but we go on, don’t we?
We certainly do!

Allow me to join you with one of your bricks?
Oh please do! If we throw enough bricks maybe we can build a bridge 😀

The more I read; the more I feel like I know you. I think a lot like you- you truly do have a poet’s soul!
…and so do you 🙂
*hands a housebrick to jser67*
come and join me in throwing a few bricks and making some ripples 🙂
