Giving up and,
giving in…
a writers’ pain,
a lovers’ dream.
Blue moons come,
and blue moons go,
the pain remains,
of losing you.
The thought of,
having you no more,
is like the song,
without the score.
To give you up,
without a doubt?
but only when,
the blue moon’s out.

How can the sea,
leave the shore?
How can the moon,
the stars ignore?
How can I live,
without my heart,
and grieve for you,
whilst we’re apart?
How can my sun,
no longer shine?
I will not see,
sunrise sublime.
How can the word,
without the book,
the empty nest,
without the rook.
How can the empty
space be filled?
By graduations,
new lives rebuild.

Oh, Brother Moon,
where are you?
cry Sister stars,
for it is dark,
and we a’fear,
the silence clear,
please light the way,
so we can play,
in night’s a new,
and lead a merry
dance we will!
For you can still,
our beating stars,
with words afar
outstripping ours.
Without your beam,
your words unseen,
your moon not full,
this night grows dull…

The moon and I,
we are like that -
She said…
crossing her fingers,
behind her back.
The sun and I,
I cannot lie…
We crossed our paths
behind a cloud,
his face does hide.
The world and I,
we are as one,
soul mates and lovers,
a trilogy -
with the moon and sun.

I’ve seen your face,
a thousand times,
it’s like the setting sun.
I’ve called your name,
have you called mine?
I rise and you are gone.
We are so different,
you and I,
you’re up when I am down.
You call, I run,
but where are you,
when I need a friend around?
You are the sun,
cowardly cold,
remote, aloof, and chilling.
You’ve hid in shadows,
all of my life,
acknowledgement unwilling.
I am the moon,
with passions bright,
your fire sears scars anew.
You wax and wane,
and spin my world,
‘til I don’t know what to do.
I’ve seen your face,
a thousand times,
you’re fire and I am ice.
You’ve broke my heart,
so many times -
Let go – I’ve paid the price.

it’s where I long to be,
drifting into dreamscapes,
singing sad soliloquies.
I have my other life, you see?
I’ve lived it since a child;
It’s not quite real – that I know,
but I’ve lived it for a while.
The daytime is the hardest,
a cruel life chased by death;
but night time is so easy,
sleep brings immortal breath.
What’s real, what’s not?
Well who’s to say?
Each one its own delusion,
by night the moon -
by day the sun -
each life is an illusion.
Shadows play upon my mind,
ghosts welcome setting sun;
silhouettes of dreams gone by
half-lives, loves-lived, undone.
So let me go, and leave me be,
to live each night anew.
I’ll sing my sweet soliloquies,
while dreams bring me to you.

Standing in the shadow of this mood
no longer ruler of my emotions;
visited by ghosts of a bygone age
I cannot shake the stardust from my eyes.
The silence is deafening.
The memories blinding.
With heavy heart and a trail of tears,
I dream the dreams from all those years.
The diamond flash of a smile or a look,
the scent of a memory.
What will be?
Will it be at all?
A roller coaster ride of life,
not knowing what to expect;
not knowing how I’ll react.
You see the sun, but inside I’m the moon;
do you not see the mask behind the veil of tears,
do you care or even contemplate the consequences -
of doing nothing?

The moon and the vine.
I show the shadows of your life;
you grow, and you smother.
I hide, my shadows cover
what I ought to be.
Do you not see the chill of my light,
reality shown cold and bright?
Tranquillity is my solace,
loneliness my best friend.
Leave me to counsel the stars,
and I will leave you to clothe the earth.
